You Are God’s Masterpiece

My son loves to build with his legos. Every time he creates a new piece I’m just as impressed as the last. We call them his little masterpieces. He is just a little child learning to build but he does produce some pretty unique pieces.

Imagine what a masterpiece coming from God is like. Think about it for a moment. Can you imagine it? If you cannot, look no further than yourself. His word declares, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago”.

As God’s creation, what characteristics of a masterpiece do we have?

A masterpiece is  special: Jeremiah 1:5 says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Clearly, Jeremiah was special to God. You are special to him too.

You are god' masterpiece

A masterpiece is valuable: Luke 12:7 says,  “Why even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows”. This is amazing the thoughtfulness that when into forming us, even the number of hairs on our heads are known.
A masterpiece is loved: John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. the depth of his sacrifice clues on in on the depth of his love. His only son, he gave to save us.
A masterpiece is cared for: Psalm 8:4 says, “What is man that You take thought of him, And the son of man that You care for him? What is it about us that he cares so much about us? He provides daily for our every need.
A masterpiece is treasured:  James 1:18  says, “He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession”. He calls us his prized possession. We are treasured by him.
you are god's masterpiece

A masterpiece is carefully constructed: Psalm 139: 13-16 says,  “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them”.

So if you ever feel like a failure, a debacle, a disaster or a flop, please remember what a masterpiece you are in the eyes of God.
