Understanding Purpose

Understanding Your Purpose-Fears {Pt.5}

The more we learn about God, the more we realize our weaknesses are perfect opportunities for God’s strength to show. When we allow him to use us despite of our fears, he is glorified.

Are you afraid of doing what God has called you to? If you are, you can take comfort in the promises of the word.

The Bible says, “my grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me” (2 Cor. 12:9).

Get comfortable with your weaknesses so that God can manifest his power through you. Lay aside pride and trust not in what you can do but what God can do through you. Stepping out of your comfort zone for God will bring you great reward.

purpose and fears

Your journey with God may mean you will have to learn some new things. If you are not yet competent in the thing God has called you to, don’t let it stop you. Be a good steward of what God has deposited in you by learning to do it well.

As Paul says, “But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong (1 Cor. 1:27).

You have to trust the vision God has for you and work towards it. The empowerment of the Holy Spirt is available to help you in your weaknesses. A genuine call by God to do a job for him will come with his provision.

{Write in your Journal}

• Are there any weak areas in your life but yet you feel God would like to use you there?
• Is there anything that God is asking you to do that scares you?
• What does fear stop you from doing?
• If you were to leave your comfort zone what could you do for God?

  1. I truly enjoyed this! My time in college has not been the easiest and I’m finding out my weaknesses. I’ve used these weaknesses to share my experience with others because I feel like most of society only shares the good and successes. This is a great subject worth exploring more!
